joyc
Could you help me please. I've purchased Affinity Designer and I get this error I have tried to clear it when it starts up but it is still showing. My computer says Directx 12 is installed and I've updated it but I'm still getting the message. I did try the trial first and it did seem to run OK once it opened but today after following a few simple tutorials the program has frozen quite a few times. Is there anything else I can do. Staff DWright Posted December 13, 2017 Staff Share Posted December 13, 2017 Hi joyc, Welcome to the forum. The DirectX version that is shown on the first shown on on the first screen of the dxdiag is the version installed into Windows. Affinity requires a Video card that is capable of supporting DirectX 10 or higher, to see the versions of DirectX that your card supports goto the Display 1 tab of the dxdiag screen and under Drivers the Feature levels section shows the supported DirectX levels of the video card this will need to show 10_0 for it to support the Affinity apps. joyc
Thank you so much for your help. Oh dear mine is only 9.1. I've googled a bit. Would you know if it is possible to update to 10_0
Staff DWright Posted December 13, 2017 Staff Share Posted December 13, 2017 If your motherboard has a free PCI express x 16 slot. you can install a DirectX 10 supported graphics card, you can get the basic cards quite cheaply now
