sylvaindespres Posted December 8, 2017 Posted December 8, 2017 It just shuts down, crashes, whatever... and it doesn't seem to be related to a particular task I'm performing. It's just random. I usually get about 5 minutes of work and then it crashes. At the moment I'm working on creating low-poly versions of photos using the pen tool with polygons. Quote
Staff DWright Posted December 11, 2017 Staff Posted December 11, 2017 Can you please reset Affinity Designer back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. Designer will now open. Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. To backup such settings before resetting the app, please watch our Affinity - Exporting User Settings and Keyboard Shortcuts video. TopDaryl Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Hi DWright. Since today, I cannot open any existing files or create new files in Affinity Designer 2.4.2 and Affinity Photo 2.4.2. Both applications shut down without giving me error messages. I just tried what you wrote above, but I still have the problem. Don't have the problem with publisher. But maybe it's because I don't use it. Today, with this problem, I try to open it, and I update it. So maybe it publisher works because of this. Could not say. The other two are already updated. Is the only option is to reinstall everything? Thank you in advance. Quote
Staff DWright Posted April 16, 2024 Staff Posted April 16, 2024 Can you please send me any crash reports for Designer and Photo, these can be found by opening the Console app from Applications > Utilities. In the left hand panel click Crash Reports - you will see a list of Crash Reports. Find the relevant crash report - it should display the app's name in the Process Name column. Right click and select Reveal in Finder. Quote
TopDaryl Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 Hi DWright. It's on windows 11. I uninstall Photo et Designer and reinstalled. Everything works now. I think the problem was related the a deep virus scan I did the day before. If I have the problem again, I will look at this Report on PC. Thank you. Quote

TopDaryl Posted May 4, 2024 Posted May 4, 2024 Again, 3 days after installing Designer again, it won't open a file. I reinstall it. I try to use the 360 TOTAL SECURITY, but it is not affecting Designer. See above the .TXT file of the error. Thank you. Quote
