Staff Andrew Tang Posted November 25, 2014 Staff Share Posted November 25, 2014 Chinese should already be supported. Which font are you using and are you able to send us the file to: support@seriflabs.com
Jay1803
I notice this problem. When I use Adobe Photoshop, I type some Chinese words in Helvetica , and we know Helvetica is not supports Chinese, so Photoshop will change the font automatically to a Chinese font like Heiti. But Affinity doesn't , so when I type Chinese in Helvetica, I just can see the 口口口口. Hope you guys will fix this.

The easiest thing to do is just select the text and change it to Heiti (or whatever Chinese font you wanted in the first place). The boxes just mean that those characters are not present in the font you are trying to use (Helvetica in this case). The other question is that if you know Helvetica does not have Chinese hanzi in it, why would you bother trying to format Chinese text in Helvetica rather than Heiti to begin with? Some applications, such as Photoshop, will pick a font that does (often Lucida Grande), but that is hardly an informed design decision.
