Forgive a question which I'm sure must be very very basic, but I am trying to manipulate individual letters - elongating them without distorting.

In the attached example I have a capital T with serifs. I want to be able to elongate one side of the T's upper bar whilst maintaining the original shape/dimensions of the serif itself.

Thank you very much.

Hi paulmcmanus,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

First you have to convert the text object to curves so you can edit the paths/nodes of the T. To do it, select the text layer then go to menu Layer ▸ Convert to Curves.

Then change to the Node Tool and drag a selection around the nodes you want to move. Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move them. Press Shift to move ten times the distance (by default).

Alternatively after selecting the nodes, click and drag on one of them to move them all while pressing and holding Shift to constrain the angle of the movement.
