zenojoe
Hi there, It's hard to explain in text, so I've done a short video here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vs2yy454flod2hi/logo.mp4?dl=0 As explained in the video, I can't see the text in a PSD file. PSD file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/881zeydmdatdldw/LSF_logo_filesize.psd?dl=0 Any ideas? Thanks Joe
Staff MEB Posted October 25, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 25, 2016 Hi Joe, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) The text is there but it's misplaced (outside the canvas). I'm passing this to the dev team to be looked at. Meanwhile to be able to access the text objects, select the Artboard Tool then in the context toolbar, press Insert Artboard. Select the layer 1 in the Layers panel, and zoom out so you can see the document and a large portion or the pasteboard area around. The text objects are on the top left. You can then drag them/reposition on canvas again and delete the artboard (selecting it in the Layers panel and pressing Delete on your keyboard). Select Keep objects otherwise they will be deleted as well. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
zenojoe
Thanks for the reply. I can't find the Artboard Tool. I gather it's meant to be with the move tool and selected from the bottom right of it. But I don't see that options: http://www.screencast.com/t/gwvjGKW7mx9 Any ideas? Staff MEB Posted October 26, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 26, 2016 Hi Joe, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) The Artboard Tool (Artboards feature) is only available in Affinity Designer. Affinity Photo doesn't have artboards. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
zenojoe
I'm not seeing it in Designer either: http://www.screencast.com/t/S4L7uCEiitwR
Staff MEB Posted October 26, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 26, 2016 Hi zenojoe, It's the tool right below the Move Tool (second icon from top in the left toolbar on your screenshot). Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
zenojoe
Ah, I see. I was following what looks like an out of date Affinity Designer Vimeo video: (time: 1:04) I can follow what you mean now. Although the formatting is all wrong (text on text) and it doesn't look like the Mac preview that I showed at the start of the video and how the PSD looks in photoshop. Staff MEB Posted October 27, 2016 Staff Share Posted October 27, 2016 Hi zenojoe, Yes, the position of the text is all wrong, that's why i'm passing your file to the dev team. Do you know if this file was originally created in another program like Illustrator? Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
zenojoe
I'm not sure sorry, a freelancer did it for me and I didn't ask sorry.
