Hey everyone,

I've purchased Affinity Publisher 2 to help create a deck of card. I'm trying to use Data Merge to create 53 cards based on data from my Google sheet. It detects there's a range of data, but it’s not showing me any of my headers to pull data from in the 'Fields' window. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

Converted, copy/pasted and resaved my data into different file formats using:

  • Google Sheets
  • TextEdit
  • LibreOffice

Checked my file:

  • I tried making my headers single-word titles without spaces (level1 instead of level 1)
  • There are no special characters or empty cells in the headers.
  • Opened in a text editor, and the headers look fine.

Despite all this, Affinity Publisher loads the file, but doesn’t show any fields in Data Merge Manager. The file contains mission titles, descriptions, and levels (for a card game project).

I also tried with an Excel (.xlsx) file, but the problem persists. Has anyone encountered this before? Any ideas on what else I can try?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Mission Marijn and welcome to the forums,

If you expand the height of the Fields panel (shown in your screenshot) you should find a second Data Merge section directly below the one shown which will be the section containing your Data along with all the headers...
