dryroastedpeanuts123 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Hi there, Since the latest Affinity update, I’ve been experiencing issues with colour profiles for PNG images. When I open or import a PNG in Photo or Designer, the colours shift—becoming desaturated and brighter. I’ve tried multiple fixes, including changing the colour profile in Affinity and resetting the settings, but nothing has worked. Previously, imported images would retain their original colours on the canvas and after export. In the image below, you can see the original photo on the left, the imported version in the middle, and the exported image on the right. I’ve been using Affinity for years and have never encountered this issue. For reference, I’m on a Mac (M2) and have also included my Affinity Colour settings and Mac display settings. Any help would be much appreciated. Quote
Hangman Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Hi @dryroastedpeanuts123 and welcome to the forums, What is the source for your PNG file, i.e., where did it originate, which software was it exported from? When opened in Photo or Designer, is it shown as RGB/8, RGB/16 or RGB/32 in the context toolbar (top left of the UI)? Can you upload a sample PNG file so we can take a look? dryroastedpeanuts123 Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 (edited) Edit: the problem seems to be coming from Preview whenever I crop, so I will avoid using Preview and crop in Affinity Photo moving forward. Edited March 13 by dryroastedpeanuts123 Hangman 1 Quote
