inkygorilla Posted March 12 Posted March 12 (edited) I've been using the same workflow for a long time, draw in procreate, copy the layer or canvas, paste into affinity designer and position etc. worked perfectly for the longest time. I've come to do it today, and am finding that whenever i paste something from procreate, it comes in with altered colours, seemingly desaturated. I've been trying to adjust all the options to see if i accidentally flicked something on but can't see anything! The first image is after being pasted into Designer 2 Update: Through some more fiddling, i've found that the influencing factor is the colour profile of the canvas I'm using in Procreate. This has never influenced my workflow before regardless of the colour profile im copying from. I found an illustration that does paste in correctly and it's colour profile was sRGB IEC61966-2.1). the colour profile of the image i was trying to paste was P3 D65 (linear). I don't pretend to know all of the nuances around colour profiles but anyone able to advise why this has just started happening now? Now if i go back to Procreate projects that i have previously copied over into Designer with no problem, they now paste in discoloured. Edited March 12 by inkygorilla Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 13 Posted March 13 There's a known Affinity issue handling PNG images from Procreate: AF-4693 It's related to the color profile used for the image, and Affinity is misinterpreting RGB-8 images as RGB-32. inkygorilla Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 Thanks Walt, I've seen your responses on a few other topics with the same issue. It seems like a longstanding issue that hasn't been addressed by the Devs in some time. Quite frustrating as it complicates my simple workflow, slowing down my product design! Quote
walt.farrell Posted March 13 Posted March 13 I agree. Does Procreate give you the option of outputting TIFF files instead of PNG? inkygorilla Posted March 13 Author Posted March 13 I believe it does but this isn't a step I use even with PNG. I've always just copied the canvas and pasted into AD, rather than saving the illustration then placing in AD just to add text, adjust and save again. From the threads I've seen, this is a pretty common way of working, so a shame there's no active engagement from affinity Quote
