Hi,

Coming from InDesign, I'm very slowly getting the hang of Affinity Publisher.

For most of my questions I'm able to find an answer online. But this time I got stuck.

I have a Publisher document in which I'm making a background pattern from a linked Affinity Designer image.

The pattern is made up of individual instances of the Designer image, as seen on the screenshot #1 below. This is to wrap neatly around the text in the document.

Now I want to explore different color combinations. (Each leaf color is stored on a separate artboards in the Designer image.) But I'm having a pain selecting each individual image instance to change the artboard.

Is there a way to select multiple images and change the artboard in bulk?

Preferable in the same way that I can change the artboard of a singe Designer image. See screenshot #2 below.

Hope someone knows an easy fix to this.

Kind regards

Mads

@Mads Hansen When working with multiple embedded .afdesign files that each contain multiple artboards, it’s not currently possible to switch all selected files to a different artboard at once within the app, they will need to be done individually.

However, there’s a workaround that may help for future files of a similar layout but involves a different workflow. You can start by creating a symbol from the first embedded .afdesign file you add to your document. Once you’ve done that, use this symbol to insert additional instances into your file.

If you select one of these symbol instances and expand its layers, you’ll be able to change the artboard for that instance. When you do, all other instances of that symbol will automatically update to use the same artboard, keeping everything in sync.
