Nick Richards Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Request: Change the modality of the Insert Index Topic popup dialog to allow dragging of the popup and viewing of any document text concealed underneath. Explanation: See attached image. Currently the Insert Index popup dialog pops up and is fixed in place, immovable. I have a hard time remembering the phrase I'm indexing. (! ouch, my memory !) Impact: The dialog can cover the text for which I am seeking to add an Index Mark, adding difficulty to the workflow. Workarounds: (A) I can fully memorize the document text beforehand, when I believe the X/Y alignment of my text will be covered by the future popup. (B) I can first copy the text to-be index marked. (C.1) I notice the obscuration, and I can Cancel the popup, discarding any inputs in the dialog, review the document text and memorize it, then restart the Insert Index workflow. (C.2) After noticing the obscuration, I can close the dialog and reposition the underlying document, then restart the workflow. Thanks for the very useful document editing suite, cheers! MikeTO Posted February 4 Posted February 4 +1 Tip: Select the phrase you want to index before inserting the index reference marker so the dialog will default to the text you selected. Nick Richards Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 Nice, that works! (This is my _first_ affinity publisher project, and it was an unexpected speedbump, so I posted. I appreciate the "this is how it's done" a lot!) Cheers, Nick Quote
