SatJef Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Hello everyone, I'm experiencing an issue with Affinity Publisher v2's Book feature. While it's possible to add metadata (such as title, author, subject, and keywords) to individual chapters using the Fields panel-->Document Information section (see this thread), I’m unable to set a unified book-level metadata for a project composed of multiple chapters (each as a separate file). I was expecting that either the export process or the Book feature itself would allow for adding details, but that doesn't seem to be available. Are there any recommended workflows or workarounds to ensure the final PDF output contains the desired metadata? I appreciate any insights or suggestions from the community. Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Welcome to the Affinity forums. Have you tried setting the information you want in the Fields panel of the first chapter file for the book? That's where I would expect the Export process to look for it. Or are you expecting the PDF output to contain a merged set of information from all the individual chapters? SatJef Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 Thank you so much, Walt! I really appreciate your help. I had initially tried setting the metadata in the first chapter, but I now realize that it actually needs to be set in the style source chapter for it to work correctly. I wouldn’t have figured this out without your suggestion thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Quote
walt.farrell Posted February 4 Posted February 4 You're welcome. And thanks for mentioning the actual answer (I had wondered about that, but neglected to mention it. Sorry.)
