This is what I mean.

If I add for example an adjustment layer, a curve for example and I touch the screen with a brush, it automatically adds a "Mask" layer. The point is that I hate this type of mask.

I do add a normal mask so the mask can be moved, turned off, copied, etc. But this "auto mask" is annoying and not flexible at all.

I went to Settings>Asistant and deactivated "Painting when no layer selected" (Take no action) but it seems that is not the right option.

Is there a way to turn off these auto masks? If there is no way, can I turn this into a normal mask layer?

Immmediatly after you add your curves layer that layer is still selected so if you start to paint with the paint brush you are painting on that curves' layers in-built mask

Just deselect the curves layer or select another layer before painting

Thank you, Carl.
Yes, that is what I do. The point is that I want to disable this behavior completely because when I work with many layers, I find out that I painted in this useless mask instead of the other mask I placed manually.

As far as I am aware there is no way to turn off this behaviour
