Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find out why the program slows down and even freezes from time to time when doing some basic actions (select or move an object) while working with very small and light files with just a few assets.
I've tried to activate and deactivate the hardware acceleration and it doesn’t make any difference. I’ve also drastically reduced the Undo Limit, but it doesn’t have any effect. The thing is, I have a fairly powerful computer, so the program should run smoothly.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Ignacio

Welcome to the forums @IgnacioGZ,

So we're able to investigate and assist further could you provide the following:

  • A screenshot of your Performance settings in app (Edit -> Settings -> Performance)
  • A screen recording demonstrating the issue
  • A copy of a file where you're experiencing the performance issues

Many thanks

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I was expecting a notification if someone replied, but it didn't happen.
I'm sorry, but I can't share the stuff I'm working on as I design logos, and they are proprietary and to be trademarked. But it happens with files that are as small as 68Kb. Only curves, no brushes, images or anything fancy.

Thanks a lot.

Ignacio

Many thanks, nothing's out of the ordinary concerning your app performance settings, as the renderer is correctly assigned to your dedicated GPU. You could try changing Retina Rendering to 'Low Quality (Fastest)' and 'Nearest Neighbour' for the View Quality, but the impact may be negligible.

If you're unable to share a screen recording or file that's completely understandable, but it does somewhat limit what advice we can provide, as the issue may relate to certain elements or document properties.

I think I accidentaly fixed it. Before my files where in a external hard drive, but now that I moved all my files to the SSD, there's not performance issues. Thanks anway.
