Greetings -

I've notices that this version periodically crashes after a while of use.  I can restart the program and it will run ok for a while but will crash later at random.  I've also notice that when the rectangular selection tool is used, you can use it once, but after that the tool ceases to function.  A work around is I can use the lasso tool just fine multiple times.  I use both with and without feather options with the same results.  And yes, I have rebooted the machine multiple times without any improvement to these issues.  Platform is a Dell Latitude 3510, CPU i7-10510U @ 1.8GHz, 32GB RAM, 1TB M.2 SSD Boot drive, 4TB M.2 SSD Data drive - both have ample available storage, Windows 10 - current patches from MS and Dell.  Regularly transfer files between "Edit in Publisher" and "Edit in Photo".  I use the Affinity suit daily and am not having issues with Publisher2 or Designer2 - all apps are at update levels.

Hello @Gary H and welcome to the forums.

My recommendation here would be to deactivate hardware acceleration in Affinity Photo on a trial basis.  You can find the HWA under Edit menu > Preferences > Performance.

If that doesn't help, please post any crash reports. Where to find them please read here:

MAC mini M4 | MacOS Sequoia 15.3.2 | 16 GB RAM | 256 GB SSD
AMD Ryzen 7 5700X | INTEL Arc A770 LE 16 GB  | 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz | Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (26100.3476)

Affinity Suite V 2.6.1  & Beta 2.6 (latest)

I already had a halo, but it didn't suit me!
