Hi Folks,

I try to set the grid to one inch, and it keeps reverting to .853 inches. I can set the grid to .5 “. Optimally I’d set it to 1 foot with 12 divisions. Can’t do that either. When I set to 1 ft, it reverts to .853 inches.
‘what’s the trick here?

thanks!

This may depend on document dpi setting.

Affinity on iPad has a hard limit of 256px maximum grid, probably your inch gets converted to px and is larger than 256.

Your .853 in fits to 300 dpi setting and equals 256px.

I use iPad screenshots and videos even in the Desktop section of the forum when I expect no relevant difference.

Thanks for your quick response notmyfault. So what should I set dpi to? (I don’t care about printing this)

Ok, I just figured out that if I adjust to a lower dpi, I can set it to 1”. I made it 96dpi, and could then set the grid to 1”. I set subdivisions to 16. Changing the grid to blue enabled me to see the 1” divisions better.

And yes, I read the documentation. its weird that the documentation covers grid color, but not something as basic as how to get to 1” grid spacing.

hope this helps other people.
