Hi. I need help figuring out what might be the best method to implement what I need to do.

On Designer, I have two artboards that reflect some redrawn map themes, so on both artboards I have roads and paths, vegetation, buildings and so on, all structured in layers and groups.

Now, in addition to exporting the individual artboards, I should find a way to quickly export the same artboards but with just the matched themes: just the two artboards with roads, then just with water, then just with vegetation, etc.

It has to be something that I can set up and then possibly redo, without having to turn the layers on and off hundreds of times, because the design is a continuous implementation and will change several times, so I'll have to export it all over again.

I've tried layer states, but I don't understand how they work (i.e., they don't always work); I've tried the export persona, creating the slices from the individual layers...but here I have a problem because the slices are the size of the layer, whereas I need them to be overlaid exactly, and so I need more of the artboard size slices. Also, it creates me a slice for each selected layer, while I need to combine them (e.g. roads and paths + symbols + legend are three layers, so it creates me three slices, while I need only one image containing the three).

I don't know if I have explained myself and surely the solution is simpler than you think! With indesign, I used to link the artboard and then choose the layers to display, but I saw that with Affinity it is not possible, so I need another strategy!

Thanks and sorry for the length of the post.

I think Layers States is designed for these purposes.
You probably won't find anything better that could dynamically change the state of displayed layers without manually selecting them.
