I bought the license yesterday and upgraded to 2.5.6. Each one hung when I tried to create a new document. I closed and reopened and each one wanted to upgrade/install 2.5.7. I did it for each one, but I still can't create a new document in either one of the three without the software hanging indefinitely and none of the top or side menu options are visible. I did not have this problem while on the trial period with the previous version. When I attempt to close the programs, I get the message the program is not responding, do I want to wait or close -- I pick, Close.

I am using Windows 11 (which I will update later this week).

I am not aware of any crash document -- each one does nothing.

Using Publisher 2, Hardware Acceleration was enabled. I clicked to disable and restarted the program. Problem persisted. Returning setting to enabled.

No unusual hardware - the software worked during the trial period just fine.

Two screenshots of Publisher uploaded. What you can't see during the second screenshot, is the rotating blue circle for the cursor. Notice it says at the top, Not Responding. It's the same with all three. Apologies as the submission form has reversed the order of the screenshots, no matter the order in which I clicked to select them.

The %USERPROFILE%\.affinity\Publisher\2.0\CrashReports\reports folder is empty.

The Event Viewer Application event where Publisher stopped responding says, "The program Publisher.exe version 2.5.7.2948 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel." There is nothing about any of the Affinity apps in the control panel. There is a message at the top that says, "No issues have been detected by Security and Maintenance. If I dig around, eventually it takes me back to the same error, "Application Hang" as above.

I am dead in the water so to speak with Affinity, and just after I paid for a license! I have work to do! Can't someone help?

I'm not a Windows user and don't know the cause of the problem, but you could try using the other Windows installer. If you installed the MSIX installer, try the MSI/EXE for one of the apps or vice versa - it won't interfere with the installed apps because it will be installed separately. If that works, install the other two apps the same way. You can find all the installers here - click the arrow beside the Download Version 2.5.7 button to select which installer to use. Good luck.

What a concept! Reinstall the apps!!! 😱😫💦 The apps themselves did the last set of installs, so ... I uninstalled and reinstalled using the MSIX installer. Voilà! All three now work! 😊
THANK YOU, MikeTO!
