Hi,

I have a text which flows through many pages. Does it exist a way to split it so that each page has its own chunk of text? (no more connected to the other pages)

Thanks

Hi Gianni, you can't automatically split a story (text flow) to break the links between all of the frames and keep the text where it is. Breaking the link between frames 1 and 2 will result in all of the text from frame 2, and from any following frames, being in frame 1 so frame 1 will be overflowing (overset).

To split a long story into separate frames, you must:

  1. Select the text from the start of frame 2 to the end of the story and cut it to the clipboard
  2. Split the link between frames 1 and 2
  3. Click in frame 2 and paste the clipboard
  4. Repeat for frame 3 and so on

It can be tedious if you have to do this to a lot of pages. Note that when you split a story and there is a paragraph flowing between the frames, you might have to adjust the paragraph formatting to maintain the same appearance. For example, if the paragraphs have a First Line Indent, the half of the paragraph at the top of the next page will now be indented but it should not be since it's a continuation of the previous paragraph.
