I've been using Affinity Publisher and Designer on Windows 10 with no problems. I'm now migrating to another machine with Windows 11, and I can't install the products. I've tried both the msix and exe files and I get configuration parser error 0x80004005. I've installed the Windows updates and have made sure that I have the permissions to run the install files. I still get the parser error. The file giving the error looks like this:

publisher.exe.config

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<configuration>
    <startup>
      <supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.8"/>
    </startup>
    <runtime>
      <legacyCorruptedStateExceptionsPolicy enabled="true"/>
      <ThrowUnobservedTaskExceptions enabled="true"/>
    </runtime>
</configuration>

Sure would appreciate some help.

I've solved the problem. The machine.config file was corrupt. I deleted it, and then renamed a copy of machine.config.default to machine.config. Rebooted the computer and then installed both Designer and Publisher without a hitch.
