peevee99 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I've been using Affinity Publisher and Designer on Windows 10 with no problems. I'm now migrating to another machine with Windows 11, and I can't install the products. I've tried both the msix and exe files and I get configuration parser error 0x80004005. I've installed the Windows updates and have made sure that I have the permissions to run the install files. I still get the parser error. The file giving the error looks like this: publisher.exe.config <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <configuration> <startup> <supportedRuntime version="v4.0" sku=".NETFramework,Version=v4.8"/> </startup> <runtime> <legacyCorruptedStateExceptionsPolicy enabled="true"/> <ThrowUnobservedTaskExceptions enabled="true"/> </runtime> </configuration> Sure would appreciate some help. peevee99 Posted December 10, 2024 Author Posted December 10, 2024 I've solved the problem. The machine.config file was corrupt. I deleted it, and then renamed a copy of machine.config.default to machine.config. Rebooted the computer and then installed both Designer and Publisher without a hitch. carl123 1 Quote
