Hey there!

I've been watching tutorials and googling around but can't find the answer.

On Affinity Photo 2 in the Ipad I have multiple images I want to edit in the app. In the app I click "Place..." and then select my images.
I can then tap on the screen to place them into my document/canvas and they get placed at their correct size. However, I can't get them to fit the screen perfectly. I always have to manually drag the images around and zoom into a corner to try to align it up, but it's never 100% accurate.

The canvas is the same size as the image i'm trying to place aswell.
So let's say the document is 2000x2000, and the image im placing is 2000x2000, I then want the image to just properly fill up the screen upon placing it.

Any thoughts? :)

Why not simply open the image directly, using Open/Import Document or Import from Photos ?. There is no need to create a blank 2000x2000 document to place the 2000x2000 image into it if the image is the same size as the document.

But you mention multiple images, if so select your images, make sure 'snapping' is enabled to match your needs then simply tap on the screen and drag the resizable image from top left to bottom right, repeat with the next image. You can then use the move tool to snap each of them to the corners or wherever.

Thanks for the quick reply, and thanks for the video as well!

I have 20 renders/images that I am editing with the same color correction, vignetting, noise filters etc in a "master" document, so it's just like you say, opening a new document in said resolution for each image wouldn't do the trick.

BUT snapping is just what i'm looking for! I don't know why my mind didn't connect those dots haha.
I enabled it and everything is sorted, big thanks!

Feature wise it would be nice with the ability to place multiple images and have them auto scale from the center and outwards so that they fill up the canvas if the resolution of the image is high enough/matching the document. It gets very tedious when I re-render images and then import them again into Affinity and I have to click 20 times to first place the image, and then with snapping enables drag them into the corner.. 20 times.

But cheers Paul, you saved the day!

At the place command, you will likely have notice if you do a single tap, the image will appear very large, this is because it has looked at the blank document you created and knowing the DPI for that and the pixel resolution of the image placed it directly without scaling.

To prevent information loss, rather than scaling, convert the document to match the image resolution by performing Document-> Canvas -> Unclip Canvas then Document-> Canvas -> Clip Canvas.

You could have done the same thing by simply opening your first image which automatically creates a canvas at the exact resolution of your images

I assume you are placing adjustments on top most layers then simply turning on and off image layers so that your adjustments apply to all visible layers below?

Affinity Photo is a replacement for Photoshop but not a replacement for Lightroom where applying similar basic edits to all images is important. You do know that you can copy basic simple edits across photos directly in Apple photos itself ?
