I have a 4K 60hz monitor, and the cursor hovering over the photo causes it to reduce in quality. When resolution is set to 2K this stops happening so it's only when at 4K.

The reason it's an issue is because it becomes fatiguing to look at when editing a photo for an extended amount of time (it reduces in quality -- blurs a bit -- the moment I move cursor then it goes back to full quality, so it's flickery). It's worst when doing astrophotography full of dense stars.

Does anyone know why this is happening and if it can be fixed? I'll just compromise use a 2K resolution for now.

Welcome to the forums @mattb93 apologies for the late response,

It's quite unusual it's resolution dependant, I'd recommend going to the App Settings -> Performance and configuring the following:

  • Set ‘View Quality’ to ‘Best Quality’
  • Set ‘Retina Rendering’ to ‘High Quality (Slowest)’
  • Disable 'Hardware Acceleration' checkbox

Once these have been updated close the interface and restart when prompted to for these changes to take effect.
