New user from MS Publisher and I love Affinity Publisher so far but one difference really aggravates me.

In MS Publisher, if I left a page element, my cursor defaults to a pointer so that I can select the next element I'm working on. In Affinity, when I leave, for example, a text box and click on another element such as a graphic, I erroneously create yet another text box.

Can it be set to default back to a selection arrow somewhere in settings?

Thanks for any help... I am pulling out what little hair I have left

Hi @DeCommissaris and welcome to the foums.

The only way, I know, to do this is pressing to select the move tool.

That seems a more cumbersome way to do it

Two different programs, two different approaches to object selection!
