Dan3D
Hi, I can't seem to paste a black and white image into an alpha channel. How do I do this please? Thanks Dan
Staff MEB Posted October 21 Staff Share Posted October 21 Hi @Dan3D, Welcome to Affinity Forums Affinity cannot paste data directly into an alpha channel. The process is a bit more convoluted. Here's how to do it: 1. select the black and white layer and convert it to a mask layer, going to menu Layer > Rasterise to Mask. 2.with the mask layer you just created selected go to the Channels panel (the panel/tab on the right of the Layers panel by default), right-click the [name of the layer mask you created] Alpha and select "Create Spare channel" 3. in the Layers panel, select the layer which have the alpha channel where you want to "insert" the alpha channel data into 4. switch to the Channels panel again, right-click the Spare Channel you created earlier in step 2 and select Load To [name of the layer where you want to insert the alpha channel data] Let em know if you still have trouble. There's already an improvement request to allow pasting data in alpha channels but its implementation/approval depends on dev management.
