chris32168 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Hi, I am on Win Photo 2.5.5 and I desperately try to crop images which I placed with the File/Place function. If I click on Crop Tool C in the tool box, I can only crop the whole canvas. How do I crop the image? I have seen so many tutorials now, they all use the Crop Tool to crop placed images. I am wondering also, they call it Vector Crop tool, whereas it is called Crop tool in the tool box. Am I using the wrong tool? Where to finde the right one? Cheers, Chris

I am wondering also, they call it Vector Crop tool, That sounds like you are watching Tutorials for Designer or Publisher, which has a Vector Crop Tool that does what you want. Photo does not have that tool. You might consider using a Rectangle Shape as a Mask for your Placed file, as demonstrated in this Affinity Tutorial: -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU.
