MobiusTempus
As the title says. No matter what I seem to do (I will admit I may have missed something, hence why I am here asking), it is driving me round the bend. EVERY table I have made since switching to V2 has for some reason defaulted to having French as the text language in the table cells. Now whilst I'm able to type/fill in the cells in English, having it set to French makes every cell content act like I'm misspelling. It's minor-ish I know, but it's driving me round the bend having to for EVERY table to reset it/change it to English, every single time. Base language is set to English I set the cell/language to English and copied the table, the cell content is set to French again New Created Tables , language for spell checking becomes French Is there anything I can do to set GLOBALLY for everything to English spelling or even remove the french options entirelly as i have zero need of it? I know there are ways to set character-style language, but i mean globally - I work in English i have , almost, zero need for anything to be In french spelling for my stuff, I just can't understand why I cant set it to be globally and actualy be global/everything! GarryP
Your Paragraph Style “Table Text” is set to use French as the Language – see attached image. Change the Language for that style and it should be okay. You may need to do this in all documents where this particular user-defined style has been used. MobiusTempus
AHH Thank you!! It was right there in front of me! I just cant understand WHY it picked French? But at least i now know how to fix it!
GarryP
Did you create the document from scratch or did you reuse another document, or part of another document? If, for instance, you copied the table from another document then the Text Style (with its Language settings) may have been copied over also. That's a good point - I honestly don't remember as it is from a template I made from an older file, so...maybe? If so, that could explain some things, If i made a mistake waay back then and it's only now, for whatever reason, showing up
GarryP
It could be difficult and time-consuming to track down the root cause of this. If you know that you have other documents which use a similar table then it might be worth looking at them too but, otherwise, I’d just try to remember what the fix is in case it comes up at some point later and not worry too much about it. If you had Spell Checking switched OFF when editing earlier documents then the problem might have been ‘lurking but unseen’.

Definalty, but knowing how to fix it makes it a lot easier now and I can do so when/if i encounter further issues like this.
