snakes89
Can anyone help me with selecting nodes with the node tool? I'm having three problems: The Node Tool does not select nodes when I click and drag over them. It highlights them, but I am unable to move them until I click and drag a second time. The Node Tool only selects objects from within the same group, and only if I select a node first using the above method of dragging twice. The Move Tool ignores groups and selects only objects, even though I have it set to "Auto-select: Groups"-- how can I select the full group with a single click? What am I doing wrong? I'm coming from Illustrator where all I do is press A and then click to select whatever I want. I'd like to reproduce this behavior. Thanks! Wouldn't it be a mess if just dragging over the nodes also moved them? Need to first select, then act on your selection. 13 hours ago, snakes89 said: The Node Tool only selects objects from within the same group, and only if I select a node first using the above method of dragging twice. The Node tool can select from multiple groups. You need to have the Edit All Layers enabled. Click on the icon on the Lower-Left at the bottom of the Layers Panel. It looks like a stack of papers. 13 hours ago, snakes89 said: The Move Tool ignores groups and selects only objects, even though I have it set to "Auto-select: Groups"-- how can I select the full group with a single click? Seems to work fine for me. However one way is to use the Layers Panel to select the Group Icon/Thumbnail. Also you can press and hold the ALT key on Windows, Option on Mac, with the Node tool selected, and you can Lasso select nodes.
