Is Photo 2 on Ipad really integrated?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'd like to use Photo 2 as other integrated apps on Ipad to access, edit and save from Photos collection.

It seems I cannot get Photo 2 as an option on Edit with action, also I cannot set full access to Photos (can easily do with other apps).

Am I doing something wrong or is Photo 2 app not yet fully integrated in IOS?

BTW, for Photo 2, quite some docs is missing (integration is only for Windows, but not for IOS).

It seems like semi-finished job.

Thanks.

Hi,

lots of aspects to consider.

  1. You can open files from in Affinity Photo from Apple Photo library
  2. You can select a Photo in Library and edit this in Photo in principle, but this requires to create shortcuts for Photo (before) and probably some unfixed bugs affecting certain iOS and Affinity releases make this impossible. iOS has silly methods to determine which app is responsible for which file type, making this feature problematic.
  3. Apple Photos on Mac may open images in reduces resolution. To get full resolution, you may need to export the image first into file system. I did not check if similar things happen on iPad.
  4. Affinity does not want you to overwrite opened files, except when using the native afphoto formats. Instead you can export into a new file, and leave the old file unchanged. It is possible to overwrite certain file types, don’t use this in general.

so Affinity apps suffer from some principle iPadOs constraints and bugs, plus adding some more Affinity quirks to the equation.

My posts focus on technical aspects and leave out most of social grease like „maybe“, „in my opinion“, „I might be wrong“ etc. just add copy/paste all these softeners from this signature to make reading more comfortable for you. Otherwise I’m a fine person which respects you and everyone and wants to be respected.
