MasterShaw Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 (edited) Hi, Probably a really easy answer to this but i'm really struggling to find it! I have a SVG that has a lot of repeating patterns that I want to use with my laser engraver, when I open the template SVG file the patterns are split into lots of smaller squares that are masked and hide parts of the file. I copy the the group from the source and add it as a new file from clipboard but when I go to export as a SVG the exported vector includes the curves that are hidden by the mask and makes them unusable in my engraving software. How can I keep only the curves that are shown when the mask is on and export as a vector SVG file, if I rasterize the export I get the output I want but it's no longer a vector. Hope this makes sense and sorry if this a really easy thing to do but I can't see how to do it. Cheers Jon Edited August 28, 2024 by MasterShaw Quote
thomaso Posted August 28, 2024 Posted August 28, 2024 If the single strokes are closed curves (contours) you can use Geometry -> Merge Curves to combine all single Curve layers to 1 layer. Then create a rectangle in the size & position of the wanted mask and crop the strokes via Geometry > Intersect.
