Blue circle with a cross?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

This blue circle with a cross shows up anytime I select an object. I can move the circle seemingly independently around without changing the object. What the heck is this thing called, and what is its purpose? I just showed up randomly yesterday, I assume I turned on some setting via a keyboard shortcut...I am using Affinity Designer 2.5.3 on MacOS.

Thanks for your help.

Hi @rootcause and welcome to the forums,

It's the Transform Origin which you can hide and show using the Context Toolbar towards the top of the UI, look for a similar symbol...

It allows you to move the transform centre for a selected object or group of objects allowing you to rotate or shear etc., said objects around a point other than its centre...
