marco_chacon Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 When I add pages to a document in Publisher I find that sometimes I lose content. When I link the connection lines from one master-page template to another, the content that was there is gone. Using delete to remove any spaces or breaks doesn't bring it back. Is there a how-to somewhere that explains the best practice for setting up pages properly? Is there a way to recover content that is no longer visible in the page template? Quote
MikeTO Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 While there have occasionally been bugs where text has been lost, I don't think there are currently any known bugs related to this. Linking two text frames should never result in losing text - the story in the first frame will be joined to the story in the second frame without even a space being added between so it's up to you to add that. I just tested drawing frames on the left and right sides of a master and added text to each side on pages 2-3. Then I went back to the master and linked the frames. When I went to pages 2-3, the two stories were joined together properly. Can you share a screen recording of the problem you're experiencing? marco_chacon Posted August 27, 2024 Author Posted August 27, 2024 I can't--I added pages and then linked them and the text that was there didn't appear. I'm not sure "where it went." I didn't realize it was gone until a read through--I can recreate it but I'm concerned I did something incorrectly. Quote
