Staff MEB Posted July 1, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 1, 2016 Hi marekkapusta1990, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) [EDITED] You must change to the Pixel Persona to access them, clicking on the second icon below the menu or going to menu File ▸ Personas ▸ Pixel. marekkapusta1990
Very thanks. I'm a beginner so I have many question. Can I ask a question here? I want to select part of photo (via pen or some other tools) and paste it into a new layer. I tried and I failed to. I'm sure that it is possible. Waiting for Your kind reply
Staff MEB Posted July 1, 2016 Staff Share Posted July 1, 2016 Hi marekkapusta1990, Change to the Pixel Persona and use one of the selection tools (you may want to try the Selection Brush first) to select the part you want, then press Ctrl + C (Copy), then Ctrl + V (to paste in a new layer automatically). If your photo layer is identified as an (Image) layer type after the layer's name in the Layers panel you have to convert it to a Pixel layer type first. To do it right-click on the photo layer in the Layer's panel and select Rasterise.... You can now create the selection and copy/paste it to a new layer. The (Image) layer type can only be transformed globally, that is, you can change its scale, rotate, skew etc. To edit an image at a pixel level you must convert the layer type to a (Pixel) layer first as described above.
