How to paste an image in a text box?

Recommended Posts

This seems like a silly question but I really can't figure it out, thanks for helping yet another noob.

I have a template that has a text box that runs the length of the page. I need to paste an image in this text box, breaking the text. When I use File > Place, the image is pasted below the text box and I can't move it.

I know I'm probably running afoul of text box rules, but I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this problem. What's the best approach here?

Thanks so much for your collective wisdom :)

You know, it seems the best way to find the answer to an Affinity problem is to post to the forum after wrestling with it for a couple of hours, because all of a sudden it's obvious. I'm leaving this here in case other people have this problem.

If you want to use an image in a text box, create a new layer, paste your image in there, and move it wherever you want.

Sorry for the clutter, hope this helps someone else!
