I'm trying to move to Affinity, but I have a ton of PSD files with vector smart objects in them. Yes, I've enabled the setting in Affinity to import them. But they are always rasterized on import and an error appears. So they aren't editable after import. Are there best practices for get the smart objects to convert correctly? Any particular version of Photoshop or Affinity Photo? The attached example file is about as simple as it gets (nothing but one layer with a smart object) and it's still not working.

Welcome to the Affinity forums.

Unfortunately, you seem to have used PhotoShop functions that are not supported by Affinity Photo, based on the Unknown Property messages you showed in the screenshot. That will probably cause the rasterization you're seeing.

There have been other discussions of this, and at least one issue has been logged with the Developers (AF-3275) but I'm not sure if the Affinity team considers this a bug or simply an indication of a need to improve how the PSD import process works.

Thank you @walt.farrell for your speedy response. From my searches and what I've seen, this seems to be one of the bigger hurdles for Adobe Photoshop users trying to move to Affinity. If this isn't resolved, I'll have to find another solution (or stick with PS, ugh).
