Good afternoon all,

I am using an iMac and last Friday the affinity V2 tried to do an automatic update on my computer. It was trying to install but stopped at 72%. This caused my computer to become extremely sluggish to a point where I had to reboot and it didn't fix the problem.

I fixed the sluggish problem by removing the Affinity app off the computer. I tried to reinstall the software/app and again, it would stop at 72% and same scenario. I had to remove the software off my computer.

How can I get help...and how can I get the licence # (the one I received when buy the app) that was provided to me when I purchased the app. ( if I can get the problem fixed)

Regards,

Denis

Hi @Denis Tremblay and welcome to the forums.

Where are you installing from, the Mac App Store or from the Affinity website?

If you are installing from the Affinity website, is it the download of the installer that is freezing at 72% or is it the installation of the software after you run the installer?

Good afternoon Mike,

The App was installed from the Mac App Store, and it is also my understanding that the update was also coming from there.

As mentioned, last Friday my computer started to get so sluggish, that I had to reboot it. After the reboot, there was no changes in the status. I could see the Affinity photo 2 was downloading an update. it just never ended and I had to reboot again and I had to remove the app to stop the update. I waited the weekend figuring that maybe the update would get fixed by support.

I tried to reinstall the app from the Apple App Store, and the app wouldn't complete its install. it was stuck on 72%.

So right now, I no longer have the app installed, and I also know that I no longer have the licence number to unlock the app. (Notice that it wouldn't do me any good since I cannot get the app back)

Don't worry, you haven't lost your Affinity license. You can download it at any time in the future by going to the Purchased items section of the App Store and re-downloading it.

If you haven't already, try installing the app (you can just drag it to the trash). Empty your trash to make space if you're tight on disk space. Then go to Purchased and try downloading it again.

If worst comes to worst, you can download the app from the Affinity website but the supporting files (presets, shortcuts, etc) that were installed for your Mac App Store version won't be picked up by the Affinity website version. Note that deleting the app doesn't delete these files, they're in a separate part of your hard drive.

Good luck
