In previous versions, the names of languages were listed in the individual languages like all other macOS apps. In English, I'd see Deutsch listed instead of German.

In 2.5, the list is translated to the app's user interface language. This must be on purpose because macOS apps don't normally work this way, but is this good for non-English users? If you're a Scandinavian user and typeset text in Finnish, Swedish, and Norwegian, it is probably easier to find Suomi, Svenska, and Norsk in a list.

An issue raised in this thread ("Character panel > Language > Spelling does not show list in native languages") has now been reported to the developers by the testing team (Ref: AF-3197). Thank you very much for reporting this issue to us.
