Master Page changed despite detached editing

Hello there! I looked around and couldn't find anything like this, but if i missed it please let me know!

I'm still fairly new to affinity so please bear with me, this may be a silly problem to have: I made a master page with some text and image masks. When editing the actual page i go to edit detached since I'm replacing the actual image affected by the mask. When i replace the image the entire thing gets shifted a bit, which is annoying but nothing too bad. However when I confirm my changes all masks on the master page are completely screwed. I really don't understand why, since all my edits are in detached mode, but maybe I'm missing something?
