Affinity Designer export pdf file with unchecked "include layer" still exporting with layer included

Recommended Posts

Hello dear developer-team!

I needed to export a letter as a pdf file in affinity designer and I didnt wanted to export it with the layers included.
So I unchecked "include Layer" before exporting
and to check if it worked, I opened the exported file again in affinity designer.
So still all the layer were in the file, it didnt worked.

The work around I need to use now is to export it first as a jpegand this jpeg I open again in affinity designer and export it as a pdf.

Just wanted to let you know, so this great tool could be improved.

Thank you!

Hamza

Hi @Hamza Abu Muhammad,

AFAIK, the only way you can achieve this is to export using the PDF (flatten) preset though this will rasterise the content of the PDF and mean text is non-selectable or searchable...

The 'Include Layers' option in the PDF export settings refers to 'Layers' with a Capital 'L' and relates to how the file can be viewed in PDF Reader software... When the option is enabled on export it allows you to show and hide those individual layers directly within the PDF Reader...
