ehbowen Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 (edited) I'm wanting to create an 8" x 10" sell sheet with full bleeds. Although I may use a commercial printer later, for right now I'm wanting to use my Xerox desktop laser printer which has an 8-1/2" x 11" capacity with minimum margins of .16" (all sides). I figure that I should be able to use an 8 x 10 page size in Designer with .09" bleeds. However, I'm having trouble getting the output to come out properly sized and centered on the page. How, exactly, should I be setting up my document and PDF/print settings? Edit To Add: I'm using Affinity Designer on Windows 10, just updated last night. Edited February 5, 2024 by ehbowen Quote
Old Bruce Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 I would set up a Designer document to be 8x10 inches with a 0.09 inch bleed. Don't worry about margins, they are just suggestions. As far as getting things centred with your Xerox printer it is up to the printer driver. I would export the Designer document to PDF with Bleed and with Printer marks enabled so you can trim the 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper to 8 x 10. ehbowen 1 Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6 Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
