Suppress noise reduction

Recommended Posts

Update

Apologies - my mistake. I was comparing the Affinity output that had no enhancement to clarity or contrast, to ACR output that had clarity increased. When I go back and compare like with like, the issue is resolved - it wasn't noise reduction after all.

Hi,

I bought Affinity V1 long ago but am only now trying to use it to process night sky images.

I've turned off noise reduction but find that when I develop RAW files and export them as TIFFs, Affinity has applied noise reduction such that many of the feinter stars do not show up. (They are present when I open the RAW files in Adobe Camera Raw. No sharpening, contrast increases or anything else have been applied in either Affinity or ACR).

It seems as though noise reduction has been applied regardless of my Develop Assistant setting.

Does anybody know whether it's possible to completely suppress noise reduction?

Thanks in anticipation.

In Develop Persona, you have an assistant, try changing to "Take No Action".
