Renze Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 Hello, I am experiencing an issue with Affinity Designer where I'm unable to open a file, receiving the error messages "Failed to open document" and "The file appears to be corrupted." I'd appreciate any assistance to resolve this problem. Here are the details: Operating System: I guess i'm using Windows 10. Affinity Designer Version: The file was last saved in Affinity Designer 2.3.0. Drive Type: The file was last saved to both a local disk and a Type-C external hard disk. The last time I accessed the file was from the Type-C hard disk. I am fairly certain that I saved the file properly and used the "Safe Remove Hardware and Eject Media" option before disconnecting the hard disk. However, the following day, the file failed to open. Any advice or solutions to recover this file or to understand what might have gone wrong would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. A+ Image (AMZ).afdesign Quote
Hangman Posted January 5, 2024 Posted January 5, 2024 Hi @Renze and welcome to the forums, See how you get on with the attached file... The main issue appears to be with the leaf pattern on Artboards 8 and 9 with the perspective applied to them where they appear on the computer screens plus the leaves lying on the desk, I've not been able to recover those elements so they will need adding back in but hopefully this gives you a workable file... I also couldn't recover the names of the Artboards so you may need to rename these if they were previously named... Personally, I would keep the file on your Internal Hard Drive while working on and saving it...
