Stacking lock up

Recommended Posts

I purchased and want to start using Affinity for stacking my Astro photos done with the Dwarf 2. Using just 400 lights or 300 lights and 30 darks and following the YouTube video from Affinity I get locked up. The stacking status bar quickly goes to 25-30% and freezes there. any suggestions? TY

@Iconnoclast Welcome to the forums.

Can you provide some more information on the files you're stacking, what is the overall size of each set?

Can you also confirm the spec of your system and during the stacking process try opening the Windows Task Manager to monitor your system resources.

TY Lee. System 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11900F @ 2.50GHz   2.50 GHz 32 Ram Nvidia RTX 3080

Stacking was 453 KB times 400 lights and 30 same size darks.. I also tried just 400 lights.

Am able to cancel stack up to a minute into the stack but much longer and Affinity freezes and need to  shut down the process.

CPU usage is Screenshot2023-12-01093220.png.083049a055f0629b4b27418957bd3fcc.png
