Hello,

I am new to Affinity Photo 2 (Version 2.2.1). I switched from Photoshop. I work on a MacBook Air M2 with Mac Os Sonoma and use to print with an Canon Imageprograf 1000 conected wireless.

Working on photoshop I was used to select an ICC profile for the paper I choose to print in the print dialog. Now on Affinity Photo 2 I don't have an option to do so. Since the MacBook is new too, I thought it might be a problem between Laptop, Mac Os and the printer, but when I installed the print software Qimage Q1 to check this out, I found that on Q1 I got the opportunity to choose the ICC profile for the paper.

Is this a bug which has to be fixed by Affinity in an update? Do I have to choose the ICC on another place in the menue?

Hi @TimBraand Welcome to the Forums,

Unlike Photoshop, we use the print service provided by MacOS, so when you go to Print in Affinity, you should have an option in here for setting a Paper type.  If you don't get that option, can you check how your printer is set up in MacOS, whether it's using the default method or an IP address?  As setting your printer up via the IP address, should show more options as mentioned here.

Hello @stokerg,

thank you very much for your fast reply and help! It works! I had to find out the printers IP first but in the end I managed it.
Great to see that you got profound help here that fast. Thanks a lot.

I got the option for chose paper types (matte, gloss…), but the print result is completly different form my windows affinity, using the same ICC ink profile. I installed using Epson L14150 driver and set up just like my Windows. Unfortunatelly, the resulta are different. I have few days to solve or I will proceed to ask for refund.

I am using this ink ICC profile below.
