tonyart Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Hi, I’ve been using my new Affinity publisher, photo and design on my iPad and all was well until this morning. … now I can’t open any of my files… on apu , ad and aph the opening screen gets stuck with ‘’ resuming launch….’ And won’t go any further! I waited for about an hour each time. I’d welcome any suggestions please. tony Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Did they update to 2.2.1 this morning, or are you still on 2.2.0? My Affinity apps are still working fine after the 2.2.1 update. What version of iPadOS do you have? Have you tried doing a Shutdown (system Settings, General, bottom of the screen) and restart? Or if that doesn't help, perhaps a Force Restart of your iPad? tonyart Posted October 19, 2023 Author Posted October 19, 2023 Thanks Walt, It stopped working when 2.2.0 so I updated to 2.2.1 this morning but made no difference. iPad is on 6.2. I’ve tried shutting down and updating the apps. I hadn’t had an issue before this morning. still scratching my head! T Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 I would definitely try a Forced Restart of the iPad. https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/force-restart-ipad-ipad9955c007/ipados Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. tonyart Posted October 19, 2023 Author Posted October 19, 2023 Thanks, I just tried but made no difference. Quote
walt.farrell Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 The next suggestion I can think of would be to do a reset of the application(s). After another Restart of the iPad, so you're sure they are not running: Start an application. When you get the splash screen, quickly double-tap it with 1 finger. You should get a reset dialog. Leave the first item selected, and click Reset. If that doesn't work, you could try again with the first item and last 2 selected (but you'll have to reactivate your license at that point).
