Double tap with paint brush tool stamps brush shape

Recommended Posts

When I use the paint brush tool, I'll at times do quick successive strokes (particularly when sketching). When doing this on a tablet it sometimes detects this action as a double tap, stamping the brush shape and or texture to the full size of the brush (also ignoring pressure sensitivity) as though I just clicked my mouse button. I've not experienced this in any other digital art software I have used, and quite frankly I find it incredibly annoying having to either draw back over it or all the otherwise unnecessary undos. I find this to be a very bizarre feature to include as a default in a paint brush tool.

I'm aware there may be a way to disable this, and I hope someone can tell me there is and how, but I for the life of me haven't been able to find a solution.

Hi @PastyPictand Welcome to the Forums,

Can you let me know which tablet you are using and also the Affinity app and on which operating system?

If this is happening after a double tap, check the software for your tablet and see if you can disable the double tap feature and see if that improves things :)

Hi,

Exactly the answer I was looking for!
It turned out to be a matter of tablet settings!
For many years I thought it was a software issue....
In my case, the 'Tip Double Click Distance' settings have completely solved the issue!

BTW: @stokerg is it possible to switch off the dbl-click action (full size brush) in Photo?

Thank you and best regards,
Greg
