I'm making a design that is extremely precise, so I have been drawing measured (in mm) lines that meet exactly at each other's ends. For example, one line ends at (35,100) and another line begins at (35,100). A bunch of these lines help to create a shape that I need to be filled, but the fill tool just refuses to fill the area.

Help!!!

Here is a picture of what I mean: https://gyazo.com/2d7f19fd2dbdeb27828d7adcd1cadac2

(Yes there is a line on the left side to create a complete L shape)

Hi LGNDARY,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

The Fill Tool does nothing because it only works with raster based layers. The lines you have created with the Pen Tool are vector objects. So you have two solutions (i'm assuming you are working with Affinity Photo):

1. You can rasterise (convert vectors in pixels) all the vector lines so you can use the Fill Tool to fill the shape composed by the lines;

To do this select all the vector lines in the Layers Panel pressing and holding ⌘ (cmd) and clicking on them, then right click on one of them and select Merge Visible. This will create a new raster layer where you can apply the Fill Tool, or

2. Instead of drawing/create separate vector lines to form the L shape, simply draw a closed L shape with the Pen Tool at once so all the lines will be connected and will form a closed shape. You can then change the fill colour of the L shape to whatever you want just picking a colour for the Fill in the context toolbar.
