how to deactivate Affinity on an old computer and install on e new computer

Recommended Posts

Where can I find deinstallation and reinstallation advice – working on Mac 10.15. … and getting a new machine this week.

Is the right term on my old machine to : Abmelden      ?

Asking because it's different between my two macs although both running 10.15. but one with former Affinity and the other with the most recent version of Affinity.

Thanks in advance and Kind regards,

Uwe

Then there's usually no need to deinstall v1.10.x apps at all here on your older Mac, if you keep it hardware wise. As if both machines are yours and used by you, you can also use the v1.10.x app on both of them. -  Further since your newer Mac will run instead eiter way the newer more actual v2.2 apps they shouldn't conflict license wise. - See therefor ...

However, if you want to deinstall V1.10.x apps from a Mac, you usually remove/delete the Affinity app folder under "/Applications" and for a full remove also remove/get rid of the related Affinity specific folders with the app settings files under the users ~/Library/* etc. - NOTE that there are a bunch of third party cleaner apps for macOS, which can assist in this regard, as when you remove an Affinity app container from /Applications such cleaner apps will also detect and suggest to remove any related Affinity files under ~/Library/* etc.

Further under macOS there is no real Affinity based uninstaller and only very few third party apps under macOS come along with their own (aka a real) uninstaller app or script.
