How to move path to specific point using Designer 2

Recommended Posts

Hi,

lets say, I have these 2 paths:

Screenshot2023-09-22at8_50_12.png.c110247b9b5cea5079f3cdd0c95cab1e.png

I need to move one of them in a way, where a point from one is aligned with a point from another one. Something like this:

1) Select a point on a path 1

2) Select a point on a path 2

3) Choose a command ( let's say Align Points ) which moves whole path 1 over path 2 in way, where the seleted point are exactly on the same place

Is there a way, how to achieve this? I know, I can switch on Snapping, but that's not what I am looking for.

Hello @Craos,

look into Transform mode with the Node Tool. This should get you there.

  1. Choose the Move tool
  2. Select the curve you want to move
  3. Choose the Node tool
  4. Select all nodes of the curve (dragging a selection box), so that these nodes are blue
  5. Shift-click on the second curve, so that its nodes are white circles
  6. Click-drag one of the blue nodes and move it (together with the whole curve) over one of the white circles of the other curve (there should be an indication in yellow along both lines)
