Windows 10 - All affinty apps (V2) are crashing after being opened

Recommended Posts

Hello all

French user (forgive in advance my mistakes :)) of V2 suite. Most of the time I'm mainly using Affinity Designer. This afternoon, AD freezed while I was editing a document of mine. It did this 4-5 times these last days, so I didn't panic. I had to force the closing of AD (with task manager, "end of task"), and tried and open it again... And it crashes (in fact close itself) each time I try to open it. The same for Aff Photo and Aff Publisher (that I didn't use for weeks).

If I open my taks manager, I can see the app launches, (log then app opened) but it tells me that there is a very high energy consumption... And the app closes suddenly, without any action from me. I run it on my office computer, so I can't do much thing, as I'm not admin.

Apps are installed on a HP elitebook, Windows 10 pro (22H2), Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U, 16,0 Go RAM

Did anyone already have this issue ? Do you think Ré-installing the 3 apps would help ?

Hi Locust91,

Welcome to the forums :)

I'm sorry to hear the Affinity apps are crashing on open for you. If you open the app while holding down the CTRL key a reset menu should appear, if you ensure just the first 3 options are ticked ( Clear User Defaults, Reset Document And Window States, Reset Studio)  and then hit clear it should hopefully solve this issue for you. If this doesn't prevent the crashing then I would try reinstalling. Feel free to post in French and we will do our best to translate here on our side.

Thanks
C
