grandvalleydave
I am creating a several hundred page document (PDF) that has 5 Master Pages, and the content is populated from a .csv file. Each Master Page has a text box and a unique graphical element and has a unique page size. Since each page has different dimensions, each Master Page has a different text box with different dimensions, font, font size, and alignment. I would really like to do is have the data merge is apply a Master Page. This will save me having to manually apply Smart Master Pages to hundreds of pages. Is this possible? I have searched the Forum and support info and haven't found anything. I appreciate any assistance.
thomaso
What data merge result do you currently get generated with your setup / what does not work as expected? Data merge does not generate from master pages directly but requires / uses document pages that have them applied. (Note, you can't create a document with a master page but without a document page). setup: result: Accordingly it does not really matter on what type of page (master or document) you create your 5 data merge setups – data merge handles the setup document pages like master pages so to speak. grandvalleydave
Thanks for the response. Currently I am successfully importing content from a .csv file and generating pages from that content. What I would like to automate is applying a Master Page to those pages based on a field in a record in the .csv file. Currently I am applying the Master Page to the generated pages to size the page and apply design elements. I was just hoping to be able to automate that process because I have hundreds of records to grind through. For example I'd love to have a table that was set up like: ID Content Master Page 1 Name 1 M1 2 Name 2 M3 3 Name 3 M11 Thanks, Dave
