Failed to open document...The file includes features from a later version of Affinity

Recommended Posts

Good Day everyone!

I am using Windows 11.

1. I uninstalled Designer 2 and re-downloaded & installed again.

2. When I opened last created files, says " failed to open document.....

The file includes features from a later version of affinity"

3. I tried 'check for updates' from the help menu.

It says updated version installed (or similar words)

Pls help!  My work is stalled.

Regards

Ashok

Welcome to the forums @Ashok Hemmige,

It's best practice not to include any personal details in forum posts as it is publicly visible, I have since removed this for you. 🙂

In regards to your issue with opening your files, it does unfortunately sound like you had downloaded the 2.2 update which was accidentally sent out a few weeks ago, if you've since uninstalled the app this will have rolled your version back to 2.1.1, and any files originally saved in 2.2 can no longer be opened due to the version mismatch.

I would therefore recommend downloading the 2.2 beta app(s) and then seeing if you can then open and continue working on those specific files in the beta app, I've provided a link to the signup page below.
